A fallen paladin seeks redemption through a penance of blood. Alken is the Headsman of Seydis, an executioner tasked by the gods to hunt wicked souls in a land torn by war and haunted by the restless dead. Granted a cursed axe and burdened by an angry magic that burns him as readily as his enemies, the Headsman must wage a desperate war against the forces of darkness and his own demons. But not every angel holds the purest intentions, and not every devil lies. Navigating a twisted path through the intrigues of divinity and the conspiracies of kingdoms, Alken finds himself torn between the gilt chains of honor and doubts that draw him towards the very monsters his oaths compel him to destroy, threatening not just his life but his very soul. This is a story of fallen angels and benighted realms, of knights who wield golden fire and of one man's struggle for absolution. — A first person POV from an older protagonist with a complex history. — A mix of action adventure, mystery, mythos, and intrigue. — A semi-soft magic system. No stats or gamelit elements. — Romantic elements. Though the story doesn't get too graphic or delve into erotica, scenes don't always fade to black. —A nobledark fantasy. The world is often themed around tragedy and horror, but it’s not dedicated to being gritty. New chapters are released twice a week, usually after midnight CST on Tuesdays and Fridays.
