Reynold Alwyn lives, barely, in the slums of the city of Partisian, locked in the middle of the Empire. With no power and no money, he is always struggling to keep himself and his family alive and well. Along with that, he can't even develop a Mark. However, when a crisis occurs and his family's life is on the line, Reynold will do anything and everything to save them, but will he be able to or will he be swallowed up by the world around him?
