Heavensborne: The Fall

A thousand years have passed since the fall of man on Earth - and the rise of man on Mars. With humanity all but lost on its mother planet, buried in the ashes of The Last War, the forgotten Martian colony has long since achieved self-sustainability to blossom into a city of millions. When they find evidence of civilization blooming on Earth, they hurry to send young astronauts to explore the old, new world.  It is there that Einstein's fear was realized - humanity has returned to the dark ages. Stef, a VR gamer with an out-of-fashion love for history, finds himself stranded off the coast of France with his comrades. Together they thrust themselves into the world of kings and queens, medieval politics, cults and ancient warfare.
