No Fertilizer for the Spirit Field
A soil scientist wakes up in a cultivation world where the spirit vein has dried up and every field is barren.
Lin Ning has no spirit roots, no cultivation manual, and no money. What he does have is seven years of soil ecology research and a handful of rotting leaves. While the Spirit Planter Association insists the land is dead and the only path forward is spirit liquid, he starts composting.
The old farmers say the north slope won't grow anything. The Association measured the spirit energy and found almost nothing. Lin Ning measures the soil instead—and finds root channels, humus, earthworms, and a network of hyphae that might be the first link in a chain no one else has noticed.
The spirit vein didn't dry up by accident. And the Association doesn't want anyone asking why. As his compost piles steam and his seedlings push out their first faint leaves, Lin Ning discovers that fixing the soil might be the first step to fixing something much larger.
A slow-burn cultivation story about dirt, patience, and the stubbornness of roots.
