"Hero." It is a title every child dreams of holding. A shimmering word that speaks of glory, courage, and the ultimate responsibility of shielding the world from ruin. We grow up believing that to be a hero is the greatest honor one could ever achieve. But reality is rarely a fairytale. What happens when the mantle of a hero isn't a glorious reward, but a cruel curse? What if you are forced to shoulder the weight of a world you never cared about, dragged into a destiny you never asked for? For Itsuki and Ayami, their quiet, ordinary lives on Earth are shattered in an instant when they are abruptly pulled into a strange and unfamiliar magical realm. At first glance, it is a breathtaking utopia—a paradise of vibrant magic, awe-inspiring landscapes, and endless wonder. However, the brighter the light, the darker the shadow. Beneath the mesmerizing and beautiful surface of this fantasy world lies a rotting core. There are chilling secrets buried deep within its foundation—forbidden truths that were never meant to see the light of day, hidden away from the innocent eyes of the public. This is a world bound by absolute, twisted rules. It is a chessboard controlled by two forces: the radiant kings who rule from dazzling thrones in the blinding light, and the unseen puppeteers who dictate fate from the suffocating darkness. In a realm where trust is a deadly liability, and the title of "Hero" might just be a death sentence... how far will Itsuki go to survive? And to protect the only person he cares about, will he choose the light, or will he have to become the very darkness this world is trying to hide?
