Ariana, the Demon Queen, already won. The Hero is broken. His party is defeated. The world is next. All Ariana has left to do is ascend to godhood. Then someone hijacks the ritual. Her body is destroyed, and her soul is shoved inside Lexi, a frail acolyte of the Goddess of Light. Ariana sees an opportunity. If she can't become a goddess herself, she'll make one. The perfect vessel? Lexi. Lexi is an orphan sitting at the bottom of her convent's hierarchy. Her fellow acolytes barely tolerate her, and within the greater religion she is nobody. Where others see a lonely, needy girl, Ariana sees a Goddess. Lexi wants friends. She wants love. More than anything, she wants to matter to someone. Ariana knows exactly how to use that. What begins with corrupting a few acolytes soon becomes something much bigger: turn the faithful toward Lexi, corrupt the church from within, tear down the Goddess of Light, and put Ariana's sweet little acolyte on her throne. The only problem? Ariana was supposed to be manipulating Lexi. She wasn't supposed to actually get attached, and she is very much getting attached.
