Elias Vey buried his younger sister four years ago. This morning, she showed up at his door carrying breakfast. She remembers a life they never lived together. His phone contains years of conversations that never happened. And someone he has never met is warning him not to tell her the truth. As the days pass, Elias discovers that history itself is disappearing. The world is rewriting its past, and everyone accepts the changes as though nothing has happened. Everyone except him. But remembering comes at a cost. And the closer he gets to the beginning, the more he begins to suspect that the world isn't forgetting its past. It's trying to recover something that should have stayed forgotten.
