Austin spent fifteen years as a construction foreman who made drywallers rip out forty sheets because one stud was an eighth of an inch off. So when he wakes up in a rotting mountain shack with a developer console floating in front of his face, he knows exactly what's going on: he's stuck in a buggy alpha build of an indie survival game. He is not in a game. He's in the body of an outer disciple of the Clear Sky Sect, and the "Ignite Core" button he just smashed has turned his dantian into a working thermonuclear fusion reactor. Now Austin is fixing the heavens the only way he knows how: permits, load calculations, and a five-foot titanium pipe wrench. His partner is Chief Inspector Pug, a three-headed celestial hound in a high-visibility safety vest. The immortals think he's an ancient, unfathomable horror. Austin thinks their sect is a code violation.
