Bound By Conviction

Everyone carries something. Grief. Hatred. Duty. Regret. Hope. And in a world where the strength of one's conviction can become power, what a person refuses to let go of may save them—or destroy them. Suichi Hana has spent years haunted by the man she couldn't save. Born into a prestigious family of doctors, she abandons the life chosen for her and sets out with one simple purpose: go where she's needed and help whoever she can. She isn't a warrior. She isn't a chosen hero. And she has no desire to become one. But the road places her in the paths of people fighting battles of their own. In a dying desert settlement kept alive by technology no one fully understands, a young engineer named Silo desperately searches for a way to save his home while carrying the resentment of a family that left him behind. High above the mortal world, the young angel Arcz dreams of joining the warriors he has admired his entire life—until cracks begin appearing in the heavenly society he was taught to trust. Beyond human borders, Xiphen, the last Dragon Lord, refuses to accept the extinction of his people. His determination to restore what was lost threatens to ignite a war that neither dragons nor humanity may survive. And somewhere along the road wanders Belinda, a gunslinger carrying a curse she would give almost anything to escape—and a past that refuses to remain buried. They are strangers. Most don't know the others exist. Each believes their struggle is their own. They are wrong. As old hatreds awaken, kingdoms move toward war, forgotten powers stir, and something buried by history quietly begins reaching back into the living world, their separate paths start to cross. Some will become friends. Some will become enemies. Some will discover that everything they believed about themselves was wrong. Some will overcome the suffering that shaped them. Others will never escape it. Because strength is not simply the ability to endure suffering. Sometimes it is understanding what that suffering has made you—and deciding what you will become next. Bound by Conviction is a multi-POV epic fantasy about loss, identity, friendship, war, and the beliefs that bind people together—or tear them apart. Across a world of humans, dragons, angels, demons, ancient technology, forgotten gods, and the restless dead, seemingly separate lives gradually collide in a story where even the smallest act of compassion can alter the course of history. Everyone walks their own path. But no path exists alone. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Trying my hand at creating a story that I've always wanted to make. I'm not the greatest writer or even story teller but I just wanted to share and let other see what I want to bring into the world. This story takes places from the POV of mutilipel characters who in time will cross paths leading to a grand finale. Each character's POV sometimes shows up only once or maybe frequently. Some characters do not get a POV. This is what I'd call a slow burn as it can take serval chapters to see where a plot point is heading but I hope you can enjoy the ride and the characters along the way. Feed back is always appreciated and comments are welcome. All chapters are still under evaluation and editing.
