The Lie That Made Heroes

A captain’s victory never happened. Orasen Soved seals it anyway. The Archive rewards the lie with XP, a new level, and real power. At the same moment, twelve workers who once saved a city district begin disappearing from its records—and from the memories of those they saved. To preserve their names, Orasen must find two counterwitnesses and challenge the hero he helped create. Doing so could cost him his XP, his appointment, and the record protection his family depends on. The problem is that the captain’s stolen power is already saving lives.
