The Plane of Atlas

In the beginning, there was darkness; then Holy Will made light, and He saw that it was good. And then He separated Himself from the void, creating the world, the plane of Atlas, and the firmament above. And on the first day, He made the sun and the stars, fixed their positions in the firmament, and set the sun in a cycle, rising from behind the world in the east and setting back under it in the west. Then on the second day He pulled existence out of the void and into the world, making the air, water, skies, and land. Then on the third day, He let the lands, sky, and sea settle into form, creating the four winds, the mountains, ocean, and rivers. Then on the fourth day, He planted into the oceans and lands the seeds of life that burst forth into all of the creatures of land, water, and sky, and he formed them from the dirt of the ground and the bed of the sea. Then on the fifth day he made mankind and breathed into the clay of the valley and made one man, Adamah; from Adamah formed one woman, Chavvah. He gave them dominion over the world, as He saw they were good and said to them, "In you is me, for I love you." Then on the sixth day He found rest and peace, for what He had created was truly good. Then on the seventh day, the void spoke and said, "I am all that you are not. You exist, and so I do not. You are all good, and so I am everything evil. So you will not exist without me, and I will oppose all that exists and is good." Then the void pushed against the world to collapse the firmament and destroy existence, but Holy Will spoke, "Go forth, my Son. Raise from the ground and bear the weight of the world upon your shoulders. Atlas, forever hold the pillar so that Your love will live forever." And so He did. Now we see him standing atop Mount Olympus in the center of our holy pillar city, Acropolis, to this very day. Watch as he struggles every moment ceaselessly. Do you see the twitching of fibers in his golden muscles as he fights to keep the sky from falling down upon you? It is this Holy Will who created us with all his love and goodness, that we fight and die to defend. The colossi and the forces of entropy will stop at nothing to corrupt our world and kill Atlas, returning us back to the void. So it is our duty as the children of Atlas to stand and face the void at every end of the plane. Not one single colossus will ever be allowed to breach the defenses of our holy city, or so will be the day that we fail our test of love for the One who gave us everything that is good. -Pope Joshua III
