Cheza Mackie was hired to catch a monster. The Sin-Eater is Midland City’s nightmare made flesh: a masked vigilante slaughtering the rich, the powerful, and the untouchable one grotesque corpse at a time. For Cheza, a contract killer desperate for one last payout, infiltrating his world should be just another job. Instead, it becomes a descent into everything Midland is built on—corruption, trafficking, organ debt, and a luxury class that feeds on the poor in more ways than one. The closer Cheza gets to the Sin-Eater, the clearer it becomes that he’s not the worst thing in the city. He may not even be the worst thing in her life. Now Cheza is caught between the people who hired her, the man she was sent to destroy, and the violent part of herself that’s starting to feel a little too at home in all of it.
