Milo Hudson failed the Adventurers’ Guild exam. The examiner wrote the verdict on his sheet, in front of him: no combat aptitude whatsoever. So he pours drinks at the Broken Anchor, a harbor tavern where every copper gets written down. The local crime boss collects her dues in person, and the owner rarely comes downstairs but somehow hears everything. Then the regulars stop coming in to settle. A charcoal-burner who always paid on Saturday. A scavenger who never missed a week. A net-mender the fish rows say the sea took. Their tabs are still open in Milo’s ledger, and every one of them points north. The Boss of Greygull Harbor gives him twenty days to find whatever is eating her town. Milo can’t fight. What he has is a pen, a bar full of people who tell a barkeep things, and an unlikely crew: a broke swordswoman who refuses to owe anyone, a paladin with too much light and no idea where to aim it, a healer who bills for everything, and a mage who has never actually read his own scrolls. Something north of the wall is keeping count. So is the barkeep. Found-family fantasy with cozy bones and horror teeth. Debts, ledgers, small kindnesses, and the things that eat towns when nobody is counting. The manuscript is complete and will be released here in full, free to read. Launch includes the prologue and Chapters 1–8, followed by one chapter daily until the book is complete. This book concludes its central story; no sequel is currently scheduled.

Both levers trail the field
Traffic and conversion are both below comparable stories. Cadence is the first lever — stories posting near-daily reached 25 followers 17% of the time; stories posting every few days almost never did. Get the flow going, then re-check conversion.
