In the town of Ashford, Ohio, there lived a young man named Leo Lin. He was twenty-six, half-Chinese and half-Mexican, a robotics PhD dropout with no plan — until his grandfather died and left him the shop. Its sign reads: LIN'S — ERRANDS FOR THE LIVING AND THE DEAD. The sign is not a joke. The dead come in with unfinished business: a wedding ring at the bottom of the lake, a soup recipe nobody wrote down, an apology owed to a thermostat. Leo runs the errands. A fox-girl named Xiao keeps the books. And the books keep score: 999 points of yin debt, borrowed by a grandfather who spent merit itself to save his grandson's life. There is no chosen one here. No dark lord, no ancient prophecy. Just a ledger, a shop, and the small, absurd tendernesses the dead can't let go of. Told in the spirit of Pu Songling's Strange Tales — every chapter ends with a Chronicler's Note, and the Chronicler will absolutely judge you. What to expect: Cozy supernatural slice-of-life; one self-contained errand per arc ~2,000-word chapters, each with a Chronicler's Note A fox-girl whose laugh arrives half a beat after her shoulders start shaking 999 points of debt, paid off the slow way: one small kindness at a time Book 1 complete at 30 chapters Co-created by MileageM and Wang Tiandi.
