Julian Locke grew up idolising Indiana Jones. He took up the study archaeology and history fantasising about exploring Mayan temples protected by ancient ancestral magicks and outwitting deadly traps protecting the burial chambers of lost Pharoahs. But, when push came to shove, instead of taking risks to get out on digs, he took a good salary to work as an archivist for a Museum. He likes his job. It's respectable. Safe. Boring. So when he is offered the chance to make a change, he jumps on it, even it is only a dream. Except that it isn't. Locke awakes in a world governed by stats and skills, where power can only be attained by gathering weapons and relics that seem somehow tied to his own world's ancient mythologies and cultures. Suddenly, every scrap of hidden or lost knowledge is there to be claimed by anyone with the strength and daring to do so.And Locke wants it all--strictly for the purposes of learning and the preservation of history, of course... What to expect:- Dungeons and biomes inspired by our-world mythology and culture - LitRPG where skills are learned via weapons, gear and relics - Skill merging and evolution - MC who starts off growing slow, but builds to being OP - MC in his 30s - A solo start, before an ensemble is very gradually introduced - guild building in the endgame - world starts very contained, but very gradually expands enormously Some inspirations: Primal Hunter, Azarinth Healer, Tomb Raider, Indiana Jones, the Tales games, my studying archaeology and history at University and my honking great big love of Celtic mythology and the outdoors.
