Some places exist without appearing on the map. Some records contradict one another, even though each was carefully preserved. An old map leads Miyan and Yano to a forgotten pier that no longer appears on modern maps. There they meet Zeya, who has been listening to a strange echo, and Waki, who has been documenting the traces the place has left behind. From the old pier, their path leads to an island without a confirmed name, a station no longer serving passengers but still used by people, and a coastal lighthouse approaching the end of its continuous on-site manned watch. Maps, photographs, sounds, old records, and human memories begin to offer different answers. But the unexplained may not be the only thing waiting for them. What makes a place worth remembering? How much truth can a record preserve? And when a way of life comes to an end, what is still worth keeping? The four are not an investigation team. Not yet. They do not even know whether the events they encounter are connected. They simply keep stopping where the world has left something behind. Some stories only begin when someone is willing to listen.
