Bullied

Emma was bullied in high school, and she carries a heavy emotional burden. The harassment she endured—first through open violence and later through the cruelest indifference—has left scars that have not healed. Migraines, nightmares, anxiety, and a deep self-aversion have become her daily companions. She is going through a severe crisis of self-esteem, battling disorders that lead her to believe the only way out of her painful existence is suicide. She is a girl utterly alone, with no friends and no one to turn to, unable to find comfort or support even within her own family. Everything is stacked against her, driving her toward ending her life. She is an innocent soul living in darkness, where every failure only strengthens the certainty that there is no way out and that pain is stronger than any promise of the future. After several failed attempts to end everything, on the edge of the abyss and deep in the lowest pit of despair, Emma meets a strange guy by chance. He is a wanderer, solitary, broken-looking, full of secrets, and possessed of a stillness that seems to come from another place—a broken soul, like her, but one who may be her last hope to bring so much suffering to an end.
