Ori knows silence better than anyone should. He can read it the way other children read a clock — the light silence of an empty house, the heavy silence of a man pretending to sleep, and the third silence, the dangerous one, that arrives just before everything breaks. At thirteen, he loses everything in a single night. And then he is left with nothing but an old, blank book and a cold metal bracelet — objects he never asked for, and never understood. Until the day the book finally opens. Ori wakes up in a world that shouldn't exist: dense forests hiding creatures out of nightmares, a strange magic that answers to no one but him, and a single page in an ancient book that just taught him how to summon fire. Survival is only the beginning. Because deep in this new world, someone has been searching for "the right blood" for a very long time — and Ori's arrival may not be the accident it seems. A story about silence that protects, magic that costs something, and a boy who has to learn how to survive twice: once in the world that broke him, and once in the world that might finally let him become something more.
