Phoenix is unmanageable. Taken from his wolf-kin family as a six year old pup, Phoenix learned to never stop fighting, never stop trying to escape, and never stop expecting the worst. Despite his consistent efforts to free himself and other hybrids from captivity in the Cravarian kingdom, humans keep undercutting him: starving him, tasing him, caging him, and even drugging him. When he is purchased by a Duchess who claims to fight for hybrid rights, it isn't a cage that keeps him from leaving, but the hope that maybe, just maybe, that with her help he can make a difference for hybrids everywhere. Lady Argyle stands alone. Having lost her parents at a young age, she has become accustomed to not relying on anyone. She has witnessed injustices done to hybrids and is determined to stop it. With strong resistance, and even hostility from her ex-fiancé, the political landscape is a minefield—every step must be methodic. When she purchases Phoenix, an abused red wolf-kin, to nurture him back to health, she quickly finds him to be more than she can handle. He threatens to destroy everything she has worked to build; and that might be just what she needs. ----------------------------- What to expect: ❖ New chapters every Monday, Wednesday, Friday ❖ Witty banter ❖ Traumatized, cunning MC way out of his depth ❖ Romantic sub-plot ❖ A few flatulence jokes ----------------------------- What not to expect: ❖ Strong language ❖ Explicit sex scenes ❖ Hiatus or inactivity ----------------------------- **If you are reading this on a platform other than Royal Road it has been stolen**
