A Peaceful Life is a fanfiction set in the world of Thorn’s Edge: A System Apocalypse LitRPG by its original author, Wyndes. This story builds on that setting while following its own characters and story. The System announces itself, and most people initially assume it is a hoax or some kind of technological prank. Then the power and communications begin failing, strange creatures appear, and people discover that the System’s claims are real. Civilization doesn’t immediately collapse, but modern conveniences become unreliable, dangerous creatures are everywhere, and many people die as humanity struggles to adapt to a world governed by unfamiliar rules. At the center of the story are two friends, Mark and John, who find themselves traveling through the changing world together. While they are forced to deal with monsters, the System, other survivors, and whatever else the new world throws at them, their primary goal is surprisingly simple: find a way to maintain some semblance of a peaceful life.
