This is a work of fanfiction set in the same universe as He Who Fights with Monsters by Shirtaloon. It is set far away from the main story and at a different point in time, so there will be little to no overlap between the two works. I provide a short lore primer at the start of the story in case you have not read it and wish to read mine (but I highly recommend going to read that one, it's very very good). If you've read up to the third book or so, then you should find no spoilers here, but consider yourself warned just in case! When The God Presage makes a rare announcement to the world, people tend to listen. When he announces that the people of Kalta Upon the Glass have a decade to prepare before the Amethyst Queen rises in the North, the city lurches into a time of frenzied preparation. Kol, a young celestine immigrant to this place, finds himself swept along into the future along with everyone else in his life. I love feedback!
