In every academy, every club needs a name. And they are about to know why. Evelyn Carroll, Jessica Baum, Rosalia Wilde, Schnee Grimm, Christine "Alice" Anderson, Margaret Howard, and Elizabeth Gale are just average high school girls that have nothing in common with each other except a shared room in the east wing and a club that still has no purpose, no name, and no future. Their meetings end the same way every time: in arguments. Until the night the lights flicker, the walls lean in, and their room is torn out of the academy entirely. Now the girls are trapped in a series of visions no one has ever seen. Hallways that stretch without end. Portraits with no faces. Doors that all bear the same number. Each vision seems to know them, pulling secrets from the girls they thought they understood, and turning friends into suspects. Then they start counting their footsteps, and realize there are eight of them. As the room shrinks and the visions grow hungrier, the girls uncover a truth buried in the academy's history: they were not the first seven, and the name they choose may be the only thing standing between them and never going home. But in a place that is always watching, even a name can be a trap.
