Tavian Merchantson has one job: Interview Magnus Burnside. That should be simple enough. Unfortunately, Magnus is a retired minotaur wizard who lives on an impossible island, keeps rooms in pocket dimensions, has a bat familiar with his own drinking cup, and apparently accumulated enough adventures to fill several books. Tav came looking for stories about monsters, magic, and the famous Wayward Lanterns. Instead, he begins uncovering the life behind the legend — from Magnus’s youth and first lessons in magic to the friends, family, disasters, and strange choices that eventually led him to Kallithea. And Tav plans to write down every story Magnus is willing to tell.
