Some people enter our lives by chance. Others feel familiar before we even know their names. Amanda has always experienced the world a little differently. As a child, she seems dreamy, more at ease with animals, plants, and children than with the rules adults take for granted. Yet when danger comes, something in her changes. She becomes calm, precise, almost unnaturally certain of what to do. As she grows older, her life becomes intertwined with people whose stories begin far away from her own. Childhood friendships, family secrets, love, loss, displacement, and survival gradually form connections none of them could have anticipated. The Pyramid is a slow-burn, character-driven story. Its mystery unfolds gradually, through relationships, small details, and seemingly separate lives that slowly begin to connect. Because some encounters are harder to explain. A stranger can awaken the feeling of a memory that does not belong to this life. A dream can feel more real than waking. Someone met for the first time can carry the impossible certainty of being recognized. Coincidence, memory, or something that began long before? As separate lives begin to converge, Amanda and those around her are drawn toward a mystery that reaches beyond the boundaries of ordinary experience — and toward the question at the heart of The Pyramid: Do we really meet the people who change our lives for the first time?
