Eight centuries ago, the nine-year-old apprentice of a great mage was meant to die. Instead, his master sealed him inside a book. When the book is finally opened, the world has become unrecognizable. Magic is now printed on paper. Humans and elves study side by side. Adventurers belonging to powerful guilds roam the roads, and the names of everyone he once knew have long since passed into legend. But strangest of all, the war is still raging. Great Heroes continue to be born among humankind. Again and again, they grow up and set out to slay the Demon King. The demons already know how every one of those quests will end. The humans remain convinced that they are saving the world once more. Yet one hero has not returned for centuries. The Great Mage. Two centuries later, a second-year student at a magical academy receives a simple assignment: find herself a familiar within one month. Desperate, she ventures into a storeroom for discarded academy property, where she discovers an ancient book filled with blank pages. Then words appear on the first page: Where am I?

Traffic is strong, but conversion trails comparable stories. The usual suspects are the blurb, the cover and the opening chapters — fixing the hook multiplies everything the existing traffic brings.
