Moon has spent his entire life in the Ground City, a place where people live beneath the floating kingdoms of the privileged. After losing his mother, he learned one simple rule: trust no one. So when a strange man named Atlas rescues him from the streets and brings him into a bizarre house alongside a frighteningly quiet girl named Celeste, Moon has no idea what to think. Atlas claims to be an Archmage of one of the floating kingdoms. He also claims that he intends to change the Ground City for the better. Moon thinks he's insane. But as Moon begins living with them, he discovers that the world is far stranger than he ever imagined. Strange hallways appear where none existed before. His memories seem to have gaps he cannot explain. A mysterious presence visits his dreams. And somewhere beyond the walls of the Ground City, monsters and ancient powers wait. The more Moon learns, the more questions he finds. Why can't he remember certain moments of his past? Why does something keep watching him from his dreams? And what is Atlas truly planning? As Moon is drawn into a world of magic, gods, monsters, and mysteries buried beneath thousands of years of history, he begins to realize that the divide between the Ground and the Sky is only one part of a much larger problem.
