2026 Halloween Eldritch Horror Anthology

Have you ever wondered what lurks beneath the dark waves of the ocean? Maybe you've noticed that sometimes the stars in the night sky blink back? Or perhaps you've felt an ancient call to wander off the mountain trail and disappear into the woods? Tonight we delve into the unknowable, as we find out what eldritch things await us out there, just beyond the periphery of civilisation. In 2023 (Creepy Pasta) and 2025 (Cyber Horror), D. Winchester and I organised Halloween horror shorts events, and we're back for a third go at it, this time with the theme "Eldritch Horror". Our goal with this event, as always, is to promote the horror genre on Royal Road. We know there are many authors who write this genre on the site, and even more readers who love to read it. Hopefully, through this event, we will be able to connect these authors to readers that have yet to discover them. If you would like to participate, please visit the following Google Form: https://forms.gle/Cduo9qLjj8cf7aCo8 The submission deadline is October 17th. Once all the shorts have been released, the final chapter will allow you to vote on your 3 favourites, and the top 5 shorts by popular vote will receive small cash prizes. Make sure to also check out the authors via the links in the author notes if you enjoyed their writing and wish to follow them to read more of their work. The cover was generated with ChatGPT and edited by D. Winchester.
