The Old World was mysteriously ripped to shreds at the height of The Monopoly Wars. And, honestly, it was for the best. No money. No violence. No problems. At least, not in The Vale—the slice of Eden where the remainders of the Resistance landed in their hard-earned hammocks, set to enjoy the sweetest end of times that anyone could ask for. Well. Anyone other than Yves. An agent provocateur by trade and a plain ol' provocateur at heart, she just can't resign herself to a life punctuated by mid-morning naps and early evening arts and crafts. So to take the edge off, Yves vents through writing a "fictional" how-to guide titled, How To End The World - For Good This Time. But when she hides the evidence in the gaps of the closed-off entrance to The Verge—the "defunct" connector between the fragments of the Old World—she soon learns that a sect of freshly-exiled, misanthropic alchemists lives down there, knows her name, and quite enjoys her prose, that the end is only the beginning, and that maybe, just maybe, she should watch what she wishes for.
