New York, 2060. Humans and Changelings have shared the city for generations, but old fears die hard. When a human man is found torn apart in a rain-soaked alley, the evidence points toward a Changeling. Detective Ayla Cross knows better. A wolf Changeling and veteran homicide detective, Ayla has spent years hunting monsters who look perfectly human. This one is different and the bodies are only the beginning. Someone is watching her. Someone knows her routines, her habits, and places she never noticed anyone looking. With every murder, the distance between hunter and hunted grows smaller. Ayla has spent her career tracking killers and now one of them has chosen her.
