Satoru Tokiwa traded a memory for power over time. Unfortunately, moving six feet is enough to leave him on the floor. To avenge his family, he must master an ability his body cannot survive and climb from the weakest Grade toward something humanity believes impossible. Most of the human race is dead. Seventy percent of Earth belongs to the Nullgrid, where Dread Echoes roam the ruins and humanity survives inside five fortress nations built on blood, technology, and desperation. Satoru Tokiwa was eight years old when the sky tore open above his home and something came through to destroy his family. Seven years later, he enters the Blood Resonance Trial for one reason: to gain the strength required for revenge. Something ancient answers him. It takes a memory he cannot recover and grants him the power to manipulate time. The strongest class of power. The weakest control. Satoru emerges as a Grade 1 Ketsujin bearing an Ouroboros Blood Sigil—the mark of a Law-Breaker whose abilities defy physics. But his power manifests at Gamma Frequency: terrible Kura efficiency, failing stamina, and almost no compatibility with the living weapons other soldiers bond to. Then someone follows him out of the trial. Her name is Matoi. She has half his face: one green eye beneath brown hair, the other eye and hair belonging to someone Satoru has never seen. She possesses no registered Blood Sigil, appears in no database, and cannot explain why she insists she belongs to him. At the Aegis Crucible Institute, conscripted teenagers fight for rankings that determine their food, housing, equipment, and survival. Advancement comes through training, harvested Kura, and Calamity Triggers—breakthroughs that occur when battle pushes a Ketsujin beyond their limits. Every evolution spreads the Blood Sigil further across the body. Every step upward makes them less human. To uncover what happened to his family, Satoru must master time, overcome his frequency handicap, survive his Calamity Triggers, and climb from Grade 1 toward the strongest Ketsujin alive. Humanity believes it knows the limits of power. His blood may prove otherwise. What to expect:◇ Defined power progression with five Ketsujin Grades, three Blood Sigil classes, and trainable frequencies◇ Living weapons forged from monster souls that choose their wielders◇ Cybernetic implants and Echo Frame prosthetics◇ Academy rankings with real consequences◇ Dark shounen combat with psychological horror◇ Slow-burn romance built through tension, not tropes◇ A protagonist who starts ruthless and gets darker
