Life seemed so normal in their town. Nothing ever happened there. Nothing. Or at least, that was what they all thought — until one afternoon, as Sapphire set out to the waterfall wanting to take some photos, she made a grim discovery. There, washed out on the rocks, was her childhood best friend’s body. Battered, bruised, beaten. She was unrecognisable, if not for the small mermaid tattoo peeking out from under her torn clothing. But it only got worse as Sapphire’s eyes focused on her friend’s chest — a gaping hole stared back at her. Her friend’s heart was gone. In a town that seems to keep secrets and hide missing persons in the dark, Sapphire forms alliances with people she would never have called friends. Now they must fight to survive as they unravel the town’s secrets — body by body, secret by secret. As night falls, there remains but one question, “Can you hear them?”
