In April 1945, three men enter a hidden Nazi bunker beneath a dying Berlin. What they find inside was never meant to survive the war. Former Soviet intelligence officer Ivan Petrov has been promised the one thing he wants more than freedom: a safe future for his family. All he has to do is join two strangers on a secret mission for a shadowy organization known only as the Benefactors. Their objective seems simple—retrieve whatever the Nazis have hidden underground before the Red Army arrives. Then they open the bunker. Inside are artifacts that shouldn't exist. Photographs that shouldn't be possible. Evidence that humanity's oldest legends are not legends at all. And Pierre—the mysterious man leading them through the dark—seems to know what's going to happen before it happens. Six years later, the survivors are scattered across the world, trying to convince themselves Berlin is behind them. Then something begins watching a woman on the shores of Loch Ness. Something wearing a black hat. The Benefactors are calling again. The war is over, but whatever they woke up beneath Berlin is just getting started. The Cryptid Cabal, Book 1: Origins is a historical conspiracy thriller blending wartime espionage, cryptid mythology, and cosmic horror.
