the last shaman

Deep within an enormous ancient forest lies a village where humans and spirits have lived alongside one another for generations. Tias has grown up surrounded by spirits, learning from the shamans of his village and dreaming of one day forming a spirit contract of his own. When the Blood Moon arrives, the spiritual planes align with the mortal world, giving Tias his first opportunity to discover his connection to the spirit world. As he begins learning about his abilities, he quickly discovers that having a gift is very different from mastering it. For years, Tias grows under the guidance of his village, learning the traditions of shamanism and slowly discovering what his spirits are capable of. But the peaceful life he knows will not last forever. Eventually forced beyond the safety of his home, Tias enters a world where magic is rare and spirits are viewed very differently from the way he was taught. His abilities eventually earn him a place among a mercenary company as a war shaman, where he must learn to use his connection to the spirit world on the battlefield. As Tias grows from a curious child into a young shaman, he must navigate war, loss, unfamiliar cultures, and spirits whose motives are far more complicated than he once believed. Along the way, he must decide what kind of person he wants to become and what his connection to the spirit world truly means to him.
