The Band of Lions Claude has always believed that a leader should be willing to sacrifice everything for his people. His arm.His dignity. His happiness.Even his life. As a former professor turned wandering mercenary, Claude leads a small band of misfits through a world where demons, kingdoms, churches, and old grudges collide. Among them is Slix, a brilliant but impoverished boy Claude refuses to let the world destroy. But sacrifice has a price. After a mysterious witch places a strange ring on Claude's finger and sends his crew after a demon named Meznoinogo, Claude discovers that surviving together may be far harder than dying for one another. Friends will abandon him.People he loves will die.And the more Claude gives of himself, the more he begins to wonder— How much of yourself can you sacrifice before there's nothing left to save? A dark fantasy about loyalty, suffering, friendship, and the people who keep walking even when they have every reason to stop.
