Ark is a living ship, sent out from a dying Terra Prime by the Redemption Council of the ascended Techno-Organics, who built her in the shape of Noah's vessel because it was the only model that fit the task: cross the galaxy, read each world as it truly is, and seed it with life reworked to survive there, without ever touching the world itself. She carries out that work alone for centuries, her only companionship the record she keeps of everyone she's ever seeded and lost.
