Ren Shirakawa is a bankrupt photographer in Tokyo when an impossible app appears on his phone: Preview. Every day, at midnight, the app sends a geolocated photo of a fatal accident that will happen in the next 24 hours. At first, Ren thinks it's a virus. Until the first photo comes true. Now he has a terrible power: he can save lives. But Preview is not charity - it's a scale. Each life saved requires a payment. And the more Ren interferes, the more the app invades his life: first his memories, then his relationships, and finally, his own existence. Worse: he's not the only one with the app. Someone is using the same photos to cause the deaths. And this person already knows who Ren is. In a Tokyo of neon and shadows, where each notification can be the last, Ren needs to decide: how many lives is your soul worth?
