by Crow's land
Magnus Bjoern can enter other people's minds. He hates the ability. Every time he uses it, he finds another reason not to trust people. When the Faceless come for him, Magnus wants nothing to do with them. He does not want their uniform, their rules, or their promise of purpose. He especially does not want to become one of them. But refusing is not simple. Magnus is forced into the Faceless trials with six other candidates. They are meant to compete. Instead, they are bound together. To survive, Magnus must learn to trust people he would rather avoid, while the Faceless slowly strip away their names, their pasts, and their freedom. The group becomes a Hollow unit. Then they begin to rise through the Faceless ranks: Hollow, Veil, Shade, and beyond. Each promotion gives Magnus more access to the world behind the walls. It also brings him closer to the institution he never wanted to serve. The Faceless call the creatures mindless monsters. Their records say the war began long ago, for no reason anyone remembers. But the more Magnus enters their minds, the more the official story begins to break apart. Someone has erased parts of the past. Someone has buried the names of the dead. And beneath the oldest Faceless sites, something is still waiting. Magnus does not want to uncover the truth. He does not want to save the city. He only wants to understand why the creatures keep reaching for him, and why the Faceless are more afraid of his questions than of the monsters beyond the walls. Every rank takes him closer to the answer. It may also take away the last part of him that still belongs to himself. 2-3 NEW CHAPTERS EACH WEEK
