The wandless fool

Fourteen-year-old Auren Kaito has always been different. Born in the Kingdom of Elarion, Auren appears to possess almost no Mana—the magical energy that determines a person's abilities and rank. While other students dream of becoming powerful mages, Auren can barely perform magic at all. He has no wand, no rank, and only a sword to rely on. Yet Auren refuses to give up. When he is accepted into Astraea Grand Academy, the greatest magical academy in Elarion, he quickly becomes the target of ridicule. His classmates call him “The Wandless Fool,” while the talented and arrogant S-Rank mage Kael Draven believes someone without magic has no place at the Academy. But Auren's strange condition hides a secret. Fourteen years earlier, Elarion was nearly destroyed by an ancient demon known as Zareth, the Devourer of Mana. Two legendary mages gave their lives to seal the demon away—but the Kingdom never revealed the truth about where the seal was placed. As strange events begin occurring around Auren, he discovers that his lack of Mana may not be a weakness at all. Something ancient is sleeping inside him. Something that has been waiting for him to enter Astraea. And as Auren begins uncovering the secrets of his past, he will have to face a terrifying question: What if the boy everyone believed was powerless was actually hiding the greatest magical power Elarion had ever seen?
