Vivre Libre: The breathe of life

For more than ten years, Eli has lived inside a locked room. She has never felt the rain, walked beneath an open sky, or seen the world beyond the palace walls. Her only connection to the outside world comes through the stories she reads, the mysterious books that appear in her room every week without an author's name. Then, one night, the palace is attacked. For the first time in her life, Eli escapes her room. While an army fights around her, she stands beneath the rain, laughing and dancing as if the world has finally been given to her. But her moment of freedom does not go unnoticed. The enemy's leader sees her. And something about Eli makes him stop the war. She wakes in the enemy kingdom, expecting hatred, only to find herself surrounded by people who care for her. A strange blue bird refuses to leave her side, following her through her recovery as she begins uncovering secrets about her past. Then she discovers something impossible. The handwriting on the mysterious books she has treasured for years belongs to the king, her father. Determined to understand why she was imprisoned and why her entire life was hidden from her, Eli confronts him. What she discovers is a story of forbidden love, an ancient curse, a mother who could not be saved, and a father who made an unforgivable choice in an attempt to protect his daughter. As the truth unfolds, Eli must face the difference between being loved and being free. But even after she understands her past, one question remains: What does she want for her future? For the first time, nobody chooses for her. And Eli chooses the one thing she has always dreamed of, her freedom.
