Set during the early years of the newly founded Ming dynasty, a dishonored Japanese samurai named Kagemori turned pirate sails west with the Kagero pirate clan. Their tactics and ruthlessness earned them a feared reputation across the South China sea. Seeking to abandon their old ways in search of more lucrative and respectable prospects, Kagemori is sent to fulfill the benefactor's request. What begins as a contract soon pulls him into a conflict far larger than piracy.
