Born of shadow

In a place where nothing lives and nothing dies, a nameless shadow opens its eyes. It has no past, no memories, and no reason to exist. Yet somehow, it can think. Surrounded by fragments of worlds it has never known and beings who have long forgotten what they once were, the shadow is given a choice it does not understand. Then it awakens somewhere far worse. A sea of darkness. Countless silent souls. Silver threads reaching into an endless abyss. And something ancient feeding upon them. As forgotten memories begin to surface, the shadow slowly learns things it was never meant to know—about life, death, love, loss, and the strange value of simply being alive.
