He's the heir to the most feared monster-hunting clan, but he'd rather have nothing to do with them. Born with the legendary Serpentii and Knight's Blade birthmarks, Goro Kai secretly trains with Shadow to fight the monsters that cross over from the Yomi Realm. Shadow has been protecting humanity from these creatures for generations... but that wasn't just it. Kai only wants to protect the people he loves and leave the clan behind, though walking away from it all won't be easy. As he climbs the ranks, he faces stronger enemies, assassins, ancient demons, and even his own family, while also struggling with himself. He will have to master the blade and the beast he was born with while dealing with everything his father has planned for him. If he can't break free from his father's plans, he may end up becoming the weapon he never wanted to be. This is a dark progression fantasy with fast rank progression, sword fights, living tattoos, family conflict, clan hierarchy, monsters, demons, and supernatural powers.
