Rain on Black Feathers

Everyone knows how the story goes. Yokai steal princesses. Princesses weep prettily and await rescue. Heaven, eventually, objects. Kuroha knows the story better than most. He has conquered the northern territories, the western valleys, and every enemy foolish enough to hold ground against him. He has a castle, a dozen generals, and four hundred years of undefeated Shogi. Then he steals a princess, and now she is redecorating his castle, beating him at Shogi, and issuing orders his generals have, inexplicably, begun to follow. Somewhere between the ambush and the tea service, Kuroha suspects, a hostage situation did occur. He would simply like to know which of them is the hostage.
