Revelation of Myths

At thirty-one, Jayce has learned how to survive without expecting much from life. He works, goes home, follows the same routine, and keeps people at a comfortable distance. His mother is gone. His father has never truly been there for him. And although Jayce believes in God, there is one question he has never been able to answer: Why has God never abandoned him when so many people in his life already have? Then a strange epidemic begins spreading across the country. Jayce becomes infected. His condition worsens until he loses his sight completely. But instead of darkness, he sees only white. Days later, something impossible happens. A single point appears in that emptiness. Then a line. Then a shape. Then color. Jayce can see again. And somehow, the world no longer looks quite the same. Soon after, unexplained abilities begin appearing among people. Governments struggle to keep control. Strange incidents become harder to hide. And cracks in reality begin opening doors to places humanity was never supposed to reach. Creatures emerge. People change. And the rules of the world begin to feel less certain. Jayce wants nothing to do with any of it. But the changes happening around him are only matched by the changes happening inside him. Something has awakened. Something no doctor can explain. Something that does not seem to work the same way as everyone else's abilities. And while Jayce tries to understand what is happening to him, he slowly begins to realize that the world has been hiding far more than monsters behind those doors. Ancient stories may not be stories. Faith may be more complicated than belief. And whatever is happening to humanity may have begun long before anyone alive can remember. Jayce has spent most of his life adapting to whatever was placed in front of him. Now the world itself is changing. And this time, survival may require him to discover what he was always capable of becoming.
