Mackenzie Patterson arrives to Newport, Rhode Island excited for the special summer institute she's been accepted to and a chance to make something of herself. When her summer housing falls through, she's not going to let a little thing like homelessness stop her. She decides to sleep on the beach that night-only to watch as the sons of the prestigious Silverwood family turn into werewolves. The Silverwoods take her into their summer compound and swear her to secrecy. As she stays with the Silverwoods, Mackenzie begins to fall for two of the boys.
