Contingency: Recourse [A Contemporary Young Adult Crime Thriller]

Adam Costanza was raised for emergencies no ordinary teenager should ever have to face. Since childhood, his father has trained him to observe, fight, lie, disappear, and survive. The rules were simple. Protect the family. Reveal nothing. Control your emotions. Know when to act. The rules are called the Tenets, and Adam has followed them for as long as he can remember, and when his father leaves town, he is now in charge of safety for the family. With only the Tenets to guide him, Adam and his brother begin asking questions they were never supposed to ask and using skills nobody knows they possess. The line between family and friends blur, and he will be forced to make interpretations of the Tenets to suit his wants. Adam was trained to solve dangerous problems. Nobody trained him to decide which problems were his to solve.
