In a world ruined by myths, where creatures born from nightmares roam the wilderness and humanity survives beneath the shadows of things it was never meant to understand, being human is no longer enough to survive. And Satoshi knows this better than most. Blind from birth and barely more than a boy, Satoshi drifts across the endless ocean in a small canoe with nothing but a sword, a tiny fox spirit named Foxy, and a direction given to him by the father he may never see again. Yet Satoshi is far from helpless. He is observant, unnervingly intelligent, and far more cynical than his gentle appearance suggests. Unable to rely on sight, he has learned to understand the world through sound, smell, movement, and the smallest inconsistencies in people's words. To Satoshi, a lie is simply another sound waiting to be noticed. When he finally reaches an unfamiliar island, what should have been a moment of relief quickly becomes another reminder of the world he lives in. Creatures lurk within the forests. The dead do not always stay dead. And even the people who appear helpless may have their own reasons for approaching him. But Satoshi has learned something important during his journey: The most dangerous monsters are not always the ones with claws. As he ventures deeper into the unknown island alongside Foxy, Satoshi begins to uncover traces of a world far larger—and far more twisted—than he could have imagined. Kingdoms wage wars over ancient powers. Mysterious beings walk among humanity. Myths that should have remained stories have become reality. And somewhere within this broken world lies the truth about Satoshi's past, his missing father, and why the world seems determined to drag a blind boy into a fate far greater than he ever wanted. Satoshi only wanted to find his way home. But in a world where humanity itself has begun to lose its meaning, surviving may be the easiest part.
