Heir of Lorele follows the dynastic struggle between Houses Sollenna and Urils. House Sollenna fought and lost a war, resulting in their annexation and occupation by House Urils. A regency was established for the sole heir of the family, headed by their conquerors.
The story focuses on the young lord Heldin Sollenna: Nearing the end of his regency, he must seek allies as he tries to rid himself of his regent. Should he fail, he risks death or a life in servitude as a puppet. Yet, he dreams of liberating himself from his self-serving regent and will give up anything for freedom.

What to expect from Heir of Lorele
Intricate World
- Factions, kingdoms, and personal relationships are shaped by the histories and cultures of the continent. In turn, each factor influences the others. Past relationships and alliances will shape the future.
A Grand Adventure
- There is no point in having a large and (hopefully) immersive world if no time is spent exploring it. The characters will search through various countries, fight monsters, and forge alliances throughout the story.
Political Maneuvering
- The story focuses on a cast of characters who, while strong, can not solve everything with a sword. Sometimes, a pen is mightier than a sword, and a dagger in the dark is more effective than a lance.
Recurring Characters and Plotlines
- If I have bothered to give a character a name, then they’ll be important later on. Locations are rarely one and done, as their characters will tie back into the story at some point.
Moral Complexity
- The protagonists are not morally perfect, and the antagonists are not ontologically evil. Rather, the story follows dynasty struggles over power where neither side is objectively right or wrong.
