The world evolved into a comic-book nightmare of gates, monsters, and rock-star S-Rankers. Me? I’m Ethan—a bottom-tier E-Ranker. Sure, I have a "busted" power that lets me steal and absorb monster souls. But while every dark anti-hero in fiction uses that kind of ability to edge-lord their way to global domination, I have far more realistic goals: keeping a roof over my adoptive sister's head, paying for her math tutoring, and using stolen monster passives to open stubborn pickle jars and never tire while running for the bus. I hunt harmless E-Rank Slimes, keep my head down, and stay out of trouble. But in a post-apocalypse Seoul where trouble always finds you, staying average might just be the hardest job of all.
