by Root & Ruin
The world of Andyrria was once a beautiful realm teeming with life. Crystal clear lakes and majestic mountains separated by vast fields and lush forests dotted its surface, and the mortal kingdoms flourished in peace. Then the Cataclysm struck. A rip in space appeared across the dark sky, spewing forth Voidbeasts that consumed the world's magic. The nations banded together to resist these horrifying creatures, but the swarm was relentless. In a final, desperate stand, a vanguard of heroes executed a scorched-earth ritual to drain the planet of its remaining magic and starve the monsters. The ritual failed to destroy the horde, instead reducing Andyrria's surface to a barren wasteland of ash and forcing all surviving life to flee into deep subterranean vaults. The surface was lost, or so they thought. The world's stolen vitality merely slept in the deep earth. Now, at the epicenter of the blasted wasteland, a primordial botanical titan has awakened from the ash. She possesses the power to reclaim the dead world and reverse the damage—but to fight back against the slumbering horde, she cannot do it alone.
